project 2 reflection
I think this project turned out pretty well. I went through a lot of problems with different programs (all of which I have used many times..) which set me back from my original plan, but I can honestly say that I am decently happy with the finished product of this project.
I originally planned on doing this elaborate story about racing with all sorts of links, sounds, images, etc. After a couple of things didn't work, I went an easier route with a poem that I have read dozens of times online.
I decided to read the poem myself, in my own voice in my way of hearing it, and then add the best pictures I could. The only problem/thing that held me back is I didn't always find the pictures I wanted. In fact, I originally planned on all video to be collected into a montage, but I didn't know exactly how to collect the video, so I used only pictures. I did associate the pictures with the words, and also the rhythm of the reading, so I think it flowed nicely, as well as show some sequential reading.
I think effects-wise I could have done more with all of this.. but after things weren't working, I was severely time-crunched. However, I did mix in the quotes (which, yes, I did purposefully leave the screen blank during that time so that the reader would take them in as much as possible) and background music into my reading, so I think audio-wise I used enough effects to make it all mean something.
This project definitely challenged me as a whole, but once again I can say that I am happy with the outcome. I did settle for simplicity again, but that's who I am. I am satisfied easily and I think that shows through my "art."

project number two
This is a video that displays the pain that gymnasts deal with on an every day basis. It also displays the reasons why it all becomes worth it in the end. And why patience is the most important thing to have.
[Actual reflection coming soon, I promise. :(]
